IAMAI Submission to MeitY Regarding Draft Online Gaming Rules
The Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) made a submission to the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) in response to the consultation call on the Draft Amendments to the IT Rules, 2021 in relation to online gaming. The proposed amendments are notably the first step towards recognizing and regulating online gaming businesses and providing vital consumer protection measures. However, in its submission, IAMAI highlighted that the broadly defined ambit of the regulations would impact stakeholders along the value chain in the gaming ecosystem. Key concerns include the lack of definitional clarity, onerous due diligence requirements, and complications owing to jurisdictional overlaps.

IAMAI Submission on NHA Consultation Paper
IAMAI made a submission to the National Health Authority (NHA), following the release of a draft paper on ‘’Operationalising Unified Health Interface (UHI) in India’’, which aims to outline different operational elements of the UHI. In its submission, the IAMAI Healthtech Committee suggested parity between offline and online service providers in their offerings so as to help end users make optimal choices via any platform with equal convenience. The submission also proposed that a multi-disciplinary team approach could be considered within the service booking process, as in many cases a group of specialized healthcare professionals might be required to determine patients' treatment plans and monopolization could be prevented by reducing entry barriers for new service providers. This, IAMAI felt, would encourage innovation in service offerings, both by end-user applications (EUAs) and health service provider applications (HSPAs), which would benefit both end users and health service providers.
9th CMO Rendezvous Held in Kerala
The 9th edition of the CMO Rendezvous was held on January 26th and 27th, 2023 at the Kumarakom Lake Resort in Kerala. This flagship offsite event was organized by the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), in partnership with Ethinos, Scatter, Message Bird, Blink Digital, Profitwheel, mCanvas and Epsilon. The meet brought together more than 25 industry leaders for the exchange of ideas, peer-to-peer networking, and cross-learning. The focus of the discussions was on the frameworks necessary for creating, measuring, and optimizing digital experiences for consumers.

The Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), in collaboration with ValueFirst, organised a ‘Conversation Conclave’ on January 19, 2023, in Bengaluru. The theme of the conclave was “Transforming customer journey, one conversation at a time”.
