Samsung has emerged as the most searched electronic brand in the month of August 2014. According to the Search Behaviour data published by the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) and IMRB Digital, Samsung with 7.11 million ‘reach’ was at the top, followed by Nokia at 4.25 million and Micromax at 3.78 million. It must be mentioned here that all search related data is taken from Google and the category reach is based on brand mentions in the search query.
Of all the electronics categories which comprise of mobile, TV ad Air conditioner, Mobile was the most searched with 15.93 million reach, followed by TV with 0.76 million reach and Air conditioners with 0.20 million reach.
The data was captured from a sample size of 98.70 million urban internet users. The data also indicates that most of the search query came from SEC C/D/E with a reach of 8.06 million, clearly indicating that e-commerce is gradually capturing the mind space of users in tier 2 and tier 3 cities of India.
