IAMAI Submission on Unified Health Interface with National Health Authority
IAMAI welcomed the proposed United Health Interface by the National Health Authority (NHA), mentioning its implementation will transform India's health ecosystem. However, through its submission, IAMAI recommended that End User Applications (EUAs) should be given the freedom to choose their own business models. The objectives of UHI will be better fulfilled if business models of the End User Applications (EUAs) are based on a free-market model rather than a controlled environment and if small innovators and entrepreneurs could be encouraged to enter into the sector.
NHA had published a consultation paper inviting comments on the design and functionality of UHI. UHI is proposed to be a foundational layer of the National Digital Health Mission (NDHM) and is envisioned to expand interoperability of health services in India through open protocols.
