The festive season makes sure that the smartphone market turns a playground for smartphone makers. The best way to target the potential is by launching a new product with some experienced features in it. And, by the looks of it, HTC Desire 728G has all the juices to be a hit.
Smartphones and mobile internet is taking connectivity to the masses. According to a report by KPMG & IAMAI, the Indian market, as of June 2014, had an estimated 114 million, 67 million and 2 million 2G, 3G and 4G users respectively. The report further elaborates that the 2G user base will decline rapidly as more and more users switch their allegiance to 3G and 4G. What does this trend have in store for the smartphone makers? More and more people are now looking to buy smartphones with many of them preferring to carry multiple phones at a same time. Smartphone makers must focus on providing phones on a regular basis with an influx of features at an affordable price. HTC has just taken a giant stride to tap the potential of the Indian smartphone market over the ongoing festive period. The company has introduced the HTC Desire 728G at a price of INR 17,990. So, what makes this phone different than the ones already available in the market? HTC has incorporated a feature that enables the user to expand the phone’s memory up to 2TB via a microSD card. The device has been already launched and it is available across all the major mobile operators and retailers in the country. Users can buy the new HTC in Purple Myst & White Luxury colors. Speaking about the specifications, the Desire 728G has a Dual-SIM operation and sits on a 5.5 inch TFT display with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. In terms of memory, the smartphone includes an internal storage at 16GB and can be further expanded up to 2TB via microSD card. The device comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera along with a 5MP front facing camera. Both cameras offer the ability to capture 1080p videos. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC with 3GB of RAM. At the back of the device is a 13MP camera while there is an 8MP camera in the front.
