Connect India, Poised to be a Game Changer in the eCommerce Logistics!

In what can be deemed as a one of the latest developments in the eCommerce sector, the eCommerce logistics firm Connect India has turned a new page in its book of success. The firm has announced its plans to launch their service across the entire country. The development is still in the nascent stage. Connect India is in talks with the eCommerce bigwigs like Amazon, Flipkart and SnapDeal to enhance the process of delivery and distribution across multiple geographies. The company plans to implement a resilient plan to create a fruitful pan India last mile delivery network. The developments in the pipeline are designed to cater to about 25,000 pin codes, million plus population cities, 8000 plus small towns and 500,000 villages. Despite the boom in the internet sector, the eCommerce sector has still not managed to reach the far flung spaces in the country. Their new business model is all set to change the scenario for good. After they announced that they had roped in 32 crore investment in the company, this news is the latest from the house of Connect India. The company will be using the investments to appoint more than 50,000 last mile delivery entrepreneurs as Connect India Centers (CICs) in the coming months. The company is looking to be a major contributor towards the PM’s ‘Make in India’ initiative with the platform.

Speaking about the launch, company founder L R Sridhar told, “We have done a pilot project with e-commerce giant Amazon in Punjab, but most of the top line and small e-commerce companies are interested to work with us. We are talking to all big players, including Flipkart.” Speaking about the pilot project, Amazon India Transport Director Samuel Thomas said, “We undertook a pilot with Connect India to create rural delivery outreach in Punjab. As part of the pilot, we fulfilled 65 percent of the orders on the very first day in remote rural areas of Punjab and received cash on delivery within 24 hours.” “This Business model aims at developing a hyper local neighborhood convenience model of one square kilometer delivery areas for urban markets and last few mile access for rural markets,” L R Sridhar added.
