Yes, you heard it right. Amidst all the pricey big ones in the market, a Noida-based company announced the most affordable smartphone. The official launch will take place today at an event in Delhi.

Now, coming back to the Indian manufacturers, Ringing Bells, a Noida-based company has announced the launch of the world’s most affordable smartphone. Only recently, Ringing Bells had launched one of the cheapest 4G smartphones in India, priced at INR 2,999. Improvising on it, Ringing Bells announced the pricing for ‘Freedom 251′. The smartphone comes with a price tag of just INR 251. The dignitaries expected at the launch event in the evening includes Shri Murali Manohar Joshi, Hon’ble Member of Parliament & Shri Manohar Parrikkar, Hon’ble Union Minister, Ministry of Defence, Government of India.
The company will be offering one smartphone, two feature phones and a power bank. The 5600 mAh power bank, called Kiwi, is priced at just INR 399. In terms of specs, the Bell Smart 101 offers a 5 inch IPS display with HD (540×960 pixels) resolution, a 1.3 GHz quad core processor, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB of internal memory, 8-megapixel rear auto focus camera and a 3.2-megapixel front camera. The handset has a 2800 mAh battery. It comes with smart wake and hot knot features. It is available in white body and golden rim, and black body with grey rim colors. At present, cheapest smartphones available in the market are priced around INR 1,500. Last year, DataWind had announced that it is teaming up with Anil Ambani-owned Reliance Communications (RCOM) to launch the world’s most affordable smartphone, priced at INR 999. The phone is yet to hit the market. Ringing Bells is looking to provide the Indian users with even more cheaper smartphones to disrupt the Indian market. “Ringing Bells Pvt. Ltd., with immense support from Make in India, Digital India and Skill India programs is well poised to launch the most affordable smartphone ever,” the company said in a press note. “The ‘Freedom 251’ would be available at just INR 251. The Ringing Bells Freedom 251 is available in white color & comes with a 1-year warranty and the company says that it has over 650 service centers across India. The phone comes pre-loaded with several apps for Women Safety, Swachh Bharat, Framers, Fishermen and more. It will be available for order through freedom251.com starting from 6AM on February 18th.
